about us
The Brunswick Baptist Association
Our History
The concept and the organization known as an “Association” first emerged among Baptists over three hundred years ago and was brought to this country by Baptists from England, Wales, and Ireland. Regarding these deeps roots of Baptist history, Theologian Walter Shurden said, “Early Baptists did not come together to form something: they cooperated together, or associated together, in order to DO something.” Such is the prayer and goal of the Brunswick Baptist Association.
The Brunswick Baptist Association began in 1899 with 10 churches joined together to do the work of the Lord. Today, a total of 49 churches are part of our Association with hearts still set on doing the work God has called us to. Our goal is to provide encouragement, fellowship, leadership development, resources, and ministry opportunities to all of our churches, church members, pastors and community. From our home at the Resource Center in Bolivia, NC we seek to honor and exalt our Savior, Jesus Christ, as we serve the churches of this great county.
